First Date: Summer 1999
We met in Ohio in 1998, but started dating a year later when we were both in England for an internship. This is us on our second date - we went to a castle in Scotland. It was pouring rain almost the entire time (hence the tacky rain jackets!) but it eventually stopped and a beautiful rainbow appeared!

We dated long distance for over a year but then we both moved to Washington, DC. After another year of dating, Bill proposed!! It was pretty much perfect...Bill did a good job! He even managed to work in both my family and best friend to the weekend.

We got married over 4th of July weekend in 2002 (Kirsten's favorite holiday!). Our wedding was a blast and we had an extra long weekend to celebrate. Fireworks, dancing, cookouts, and wedding fun with great friends and family!

We are very proud to have such a strong, happy, and loving marriage for the past 9 years. We are each other's best friends. Together we have visited San Francisco, Vermont, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Hawaii, Nashville, Orlando, and Arizona. We have been to dozens of basketball, football, baseball, and hockey games. We love music and have seen some amazing concerts. We have visited the museums of DC and have seen some great Broadway shows in NYC. We have camped and hiked in 7 different states. These experiences and adventures have made us grow stronger and more stable as a couple. But, we are SO READY for our next adventure to be as parents! We are ready for family vacations and for our family of two to become a family of 3!

For both of us, there is nothing more important in life than family. We have both always wanted children and have dreamed of the day we would become parents. Kirsten grew up babysitting, teaching swim lessons, and working as a day camp counselor. Bill is the oldest of 4 kids and grew up helping to care for his younger siblings. We have 2 amazing nephews, 1 beautiful niece, and 3 God Children whom we love spending time with. We are both educators and love working with our students. However, we very much want a family of our own.
When we got married, we lived in Washington, DC. We moved back to central Ohio to be close to relatives and good friends. We bought a house in a good neighborhood with excellent schools. Our neighborhood is full of children and lots of parks and playgrounds.
Our home and our hearts are ready to become a family!
